Introduction
The project will introduce visitor management mechanisms and effective sustainable transport with the provision of a smartcard and an internet-based service. Intended to enhance the tourist experience and reduce pressure on existing infrastructure.

The smartcard will be introduced for multi-purpose use at a regional level for day and overnight tourists, businesses, entertainment centres, museums, car parking, hotel bookings, reservations and local authority requirements. This initiative offers a clear contribution to the quality of the environment and the requirements of tourists and holidaymakers.

Planning and Transnational Exchange, May 2003
For an introduction to the Schouwen-Duiveland region and planning needs, download the presentation in Engels.ppt.

Following the feasibility study and development of local partnerships in the Schouwen-Duiveland region, the Municipality are reviewing a leisure card that will allow visitors greater access to all attractions in the area. The EntdeckerCard developed in Bremen as a Target 2 project has proved to be a great success, and the two Target partners are discussing how EntdeckerCard technology can be transferred and adopted. This is a great example of transnational working - transfer of good mobility ideas and best practice.
