Introduction
Soft tourism is an important element of the economic development of this region.  Two initiatives of the regional tourist office and a regional bus operator (WEB) are being developed to attract more people to use public transport for leisure and tourism.

In Worpswede (an artist village in the Bremen area), a special train service with cultural events will be provided.  In the West of Bremen, a cycle bus of WEB will provide an alternative to the private car. Target 2 is supporting these projects with awareness campaigns, information services and a seminar about soft tourism and material investment.

Cycle Bus launch, Bremen May 2004
'Weser-Ems Bus' the public transport operator, a sub-partner to the Bremen Target partner launched their cycle trailer for the weekend bus line to the region of Bremen.

The cycle bus initiative is already popular in the UK with Yorkshire Dales sub-partners.  It is also under rview with Dutch partners Schouwenland.
