Mobility Education
The Mobility Education Work Area works with young people to increase their road safety awareness, improve the quality and safety of the school journey and encourage more positive attitudes towards sustainable transport in young people.  

Many of the workpackages are developed from pilot activities undertaken in Target 1, which developed the lifestyle based  learning initiatives that can influence travel behaviour and behaviour within the wider community. 

Project activities will:

• Promote alternative means of travel for school journeys
• Evaluate safe routes to school initiatives and develop  ‘blueprints’ for cycling and walking promotions
• Implement best practice for school journeys
• Work with schools to develop traffic awareness of young people within the spheres of health, safety and environment.
• Promote bike-pooling and develop cycle routes for primary school children.
