Visitors who travel by public transport to and through the Yorkshire Dales can benefit from a new money-saving scheme. So far 50 local businesses - including cafes, shops, pubs, bed and breakfast owners and museums have joined the Dales Bus Discount scheme, offering discounts to public transport users.
All participating businesses display the new Dales Bus Discount sticker in their window. There are a variety of discounts on offer, from a free cup of tea with your meal, money off your overnight stay, or a discounted entry to one of the Dale's attractions. All businesses, their discounts and more information are listed on www.traveldales.org.uk
To claim your discount, just present your valid bus or train ticket at the participating venues. It could not be easier. And these discounts are available to everyone travelling by public transport - both tourists and residents. So everyone benefits.
By encouraging people to travel on public transport, the scheme aims to reduce the number of car journeys in the Yorkshire Dales. Helping to protect the environment and reduce congestion.
