The school walking component of Target 1 led to the production of this report, prepared as a joint effort by school travel plan officers throughout the Yorkshire and Humber Region.

This guidance note outlines design principles that should be included in all proposals for new schools.  It is not intended to be a legally binding requirement and should be read in conjunction with local and national design guidance as appropriate.
