Success for Smartcard based “EnteckerCard”, October 2002

A break-through for travel and leisure - EntdeckerCard combines public transport with vistits to leisure venues by using smart card technology. 

More than 2500 clients used the “EnteckerCard” in 2002 for leisure trips in Bremen and the North-West region of Germany.  With the EndeckerCard it is possible to visit over 100 tourist attractions including entertainment centres, exhibitions and museums.  It can be used in time zones up to three days.

This pilot project using Smartcard technology for transport and leisure means that there is no need to take the private car for leisure trips, as free public transport is included in the ticket.
