Target 2 Dissemination Event:   'Looking Back - Looking Forward'

You are invited to hear the outcomes of Target activites including - stepd to behavioural change, successsful promotional campaigns, trans-national importance and links with the future.

Fighting Bus Crime Conference, October 2004
John Ansari, who manages the Target projects in South Yorkshire PTE, presented at the conference delivering the concepts and success of the SAFE programme.The SAFE team works primarily with schools, public transport operators and South Yorkshire Police to develop schemes that address bus crime and young people.

TAPESTRY Project / Target 2, September 24, 2004
'Campaign Solution for Transport'
Metro were the hosts for this joint dissemination seminar of the two EU-funded Interreg projects. Chaired by Jacqui Wilkinson, Policy Advisor to Department for Transport, the seminar presented information for promoting sustainable travel initiatives; campaign basics from design process to results assessment; the psycology of behavioual change and the appropriate communications.  See related links.

Marketing Soft Measures - Exchange visit to Odense, October 6 - 8, 2004
Odense will be hosting a second exchange visit for UK delegates to identify and discuss their successsful marketing campaigns.  Details and outcomes of the visit will be posted here.

Main points under discussion were the final year communication strategy including the continuation of the web site, final conference(s) and possible participation at ECOMM 2005.

Business in the Community Conference - May 2004
Representitives of Yorkshire and Humber Target Workplaces package staffed a display stand at this environmental conference, held at Hallam University, Sheffield.  The event offered Target the opportunity to promote a range of travel plan asistance tools available across the region.

Thematic Seminar in Goteborg, Sweden - June 17/18, 2003
Theme: 'Behaviour change and influencing people'
New initiatives and soft measures developed in projects like Target are often difficult to be accepted and adopted by decision makers and the general public. This seminar will look at the fundamental findings of behaviour and attitude change; positive approaches that have been successful and direct exchange of experiences that can be adapted for every project.

Thematic Seminar discussing Sustainable Leisure Travel, Bruges Belgium - January 15/16, 2003
The first thematic seminar of the Target 2 project looked at the impact of leisure travel across the Work Areas. How leisure travel impacts on commuters, young people and barriers to leisure venues in our city centers and those who live there. Bruges was an ideal venue for the first seminar not least because of the importance of the tourist economy and its impact on travel patterns across the city and the region.

Metro hosted a half day seminar to review the importance of Travel Plans to address the problems and impacts of transport and the National Health Service.
